A three-bedroom weatherboard house renovated throughout, plus a one-bedroom loft apartment built inside the shed.

This job was two builds on one block: a full renovation of a three-bedroom weatherboard house, and a self-contained apartment inside the shed behind it.
The original house was a renovator with one basic bathroom. The renovation was finished in 2025.
The kitchen, dining and living areas now sit in one room under a raked ceiling, with clerestory windows that bring in light from the hills behind. The kitchen has a curved island, brass tapware and a butler's pantry through an arch. Sliding doors open to a covered sitting area and a level backyard.

The main bedroom has its own ensuite. Both bathrooms have custom cabinetry, brushed brass fittings, backlit mirrors and underfloor heating.

From the street it is a weatherboard cottage with a front porch. The work is in the joinery, the light and the floors you can stand on in winter.

The shed house came first, in 2024, so there was somewhere to live on site while the main house was renovated. It is a one-bedroom loft apartment with its own kitchenette and bathroom, a bedroom on a timber mezzanine, and heating laid in the concrete slab.
